Ongoing Business –
Recap - Future Energy – Bob Sears gave update of bullet points – Bob mentioned town of Sandwich having large solar farm; Myron will reach out to wiring inspector there to get his input. Steve said think of aesthetics as far as trees coming down. This has a good size footprint. Revisit next month.
Roll Call Board – update – Tabled; Pastor Allan will do that.
Door locks and keys – update – A new doorknob lock and lock box were installed Pastor Allan has extra keys made. Pastor will change combination on the first of each month. Giving folks keys is a good idea but we do not know who has them. Thanks to Myron Winders for getting lock box; and Thanks Pastor Allan for installing lockset, Allan replaced the mailbox post also. Item complete.
Donate button – Steve Delano will set up thru Wi-Fi with sign and tap card. And we also have portable ones for use at bake sales, yard sales etc., but need to hook up to smartphone.
Lortie Construction – cupola – Myron spoke with Gabriel Lortie to look at cupola in a few weeks and ask about elevator structure.
Elevator/Lift – draft of letter - Bob Sears. We discussed at April meeting regarding crafting a letter to kick off fundraising campaign to make building accessible for all. Bob read letter aloud…. Myron asked if it should be mailed or emailed to members. Bob thought it should be mailed to every member or friend; Pastor Allan said to mail it out. Karen asked if fundraiser separate from budget, it should be separate and funds kept separate. Bob said we should send letter, then 2 weeks later mention from pulpit. Should we put financial item in letters? Dennis Carman stated we should ask directly for financial assistance. Dennis mentions preconstruction cost, and all could use financial support; ask more directly. Myron thinks 10-15 thousand dollars for architect and permitting costs. Bob stated that we need to reach every person as it is OUR church. He further suggested that fundraising account balance be in the bulletin each week. Pastor Allan stated that folks would want to see how much church would take from general fund before they would donate. Discussion continued to next meeting.
Wind River update – Ginny Sears contacted WindRiver to say that we would call next year for service in that church is not used daily. WindRiver stated we would have to set up an “account” with them to schedule service every two years – Ginny indicated to them that we have and account and would contact them in 2026.
Tyler Well – well serviced May 7th for a cost of $120.
Data Breach – Bluestone Bank – update? Steve thought that checking and savings accounts were fine, seems just a precautionary email from bank. He did not notice anything amiss.
